Join us for this intensive 2-day Incident Management course. Throughout this comprehensive program, you'll have the opportunity to learn vital self-rescue and assisted rescue techniques, familiarize yourself with essential safety equipment, and delve into effective incident assessment and management strategies. Key paddling strokes will also be introduced to help improve your overall effectiveness during rescue situations.

A major emphasis of the training will be on developing a thorough risk assessment tailored for you and your group, which is essential in helping to mitigate potential hazards and enhance overall safety during outings. Led by our experience Sea Kayak Coaches, you will be trained in the latest rescue practices that are suitable for both beginners looking to gain foundational skills and for those needing a refresher on best practices.

Enhance your confidence and practical skills in sea kayaking incident management through this hands-on course, designed to ensure that you are well-prepared for any situation that may arise on the water.

    • Different methods of self and assisted kayak rescues

    • How to call for help

    • Kayak towing methods

    • How to deal with common incidents that happen on sea kayak journeys

    • Risk Management frameworks

  • A basic understanding of moving your kayak is required for this course. If you’ve taken our Foundations Level 1 or equivalent course, that would meet this requirement!

  • Onboarding: After signing up, we’ll send you a questionnaire to complete about your kayaking experience and general health to ensure you’re enrolling in the right class.
